Children in the Armoire (Part I), 2010 (Spray & acrylic paints on found armoire doors, 47” x 37”).
A few months ago, I found an armoire right outside my studio. It was in pretty bad condition, but I loved the doors. So, I unhinged them (I also took the back panels of the armoire with a hammer). I brought the pieces upstairs and they sat next to a portrait that I was working on for a while. Some paint splashed on them. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with them until I created a couple of 24”x18” stencils of Narcissus and some flowers.
